VELVET REVOLVER To Release EP Through IMMORTAL RECORDS
July 22, 2003VELVET REVOLVER, the new band featuring GUNS N' ROSES alumni Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, David Kushner of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland, will likely release an EP in October via Immortal Records, according to Billboard.com. The label, which was previously distributed by Epic and Virgin, has just inked a new deal with RED Distribution. Other bands on the Immortal roster include NO ONE and SW1TCHED.
As previously reported, VELVET REVOLVER will enter the studio on July 28 with producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, JANE'S ADDITION, ALICE COOPER, PINK FLOYD) to record the song "Slither". The track, which was previewed at the group's live debut in Los Angeles last month, is expected to be the only studio cut on VELVET REVOLVER's upcoming EP of the El Rey Theatre performance, tentatively due on October 13. Another, "hidden" track may also be included on the disc, according to the band's spokesperson.
VELVET REVOLVER's track "Set Me Free", which was included on Decca's soundtrack to "The Hulk", is No. 20 this week on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks airplay chart.
